I absolutely love Geodes, from the crystal formations and layers to the colours being so vivid. They are simply spectacular and can make the perfect gift whether to display visually or to touch and hold.

 

Geodes can form in any cavity, but the term is usually reserved for more or less rounded formations in igneous and sedimentary rocks. They can form in gas bubbles such as basaltic lava or rounded cavities in sedimentary formations.
